CBD and Recovery

We all have a love/hate relationship with being sore from a workout, right? It’s like, your soreness is proof of the effort you put into your workout but at the same time you are avoiding stairs after a brutal leg day. There are a couple of things we do to try to recover from these aches and inflammation including ice baths, taking your BCAA’s, or massaging it out, but now people are adding CBD into their recovery routine.

So how does CBD help with your recovery?

CBD binds with the receptors in your endocannabinoid system, thus “supplementing” the cannabinoids within your ECS and helping it perform its job. Your ECS works to regulate your inflammation and pain, therefore helping with your recovery for a workout. Athletes and healthy individuals take CBD to supplement their endocannabinoid system to help with their muscle recovery due to the regulation of inflammation and pain of the ECS.

When exercising, muscle fibers become damaged and trigger inflammation. This condition is known as Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS). Anyone from the top athletes with strenuous workouts, to a beginner in their fitness journey who is starting out with a 30-minute workout here and there can benefit from fighting inflammation and pain in their body after a workout.

Athletes and healthy individuals love the natural use of CBD to aid in their recovery. It has helped step up the game for everyone when it comes to taking care of your body and contributing to your health and wellness. Genesee wanted to provide products that healthy individuals already have sitting in their cabinets that have CBD blended into them, making it easier for the individual to get the nutrients they need.
