FOR GRAPPLERS · BLUE BELT TO BLACK
A readable label for long mat days.
Each current bar lists 21g total protein and grass-fed bison tallow. It is a packaged snack, not a prescribed recovery product or a substitute for an established weight-cut, hydration, or tournament plan.
Jiu-jitsu sessions make portability and a readable label useful. Genesee fits that routine with 21g of protein per bar, grass-fed bison tallow, no soy isolate, no canola oil, and no sucralose. Check the current nutrition and allergen label against your own training plan.
Every current flavor contains milk and peanuts. White Chocolate Toffee also declares soy, and Coffee Latte contains coffee and caffeine without a published exact amount per bar. Those disclosures matter more than a generic athlete-food claim.
A 12-bar box subscription saves 20% and orders over $65 ship free. Skip during a lighter training week, double during the off-season, change flavors any month — the dashboard handles it without a phone call.

What people are saying
“The bars are OK, but not good enough to offset having 16 to 17 grams of carbs.”
Common questions from grapplers
Is Genesee a good protein bar for jiu-jitsu training?+
It can be a convenient packaged snack around a training session. The current label lists 21g protein and grass-fed bison tallow with no seed oils or soy protein isolate. Timing and total-food needs vary, so use it within your normal plan rather than as a prescribed recovery product.
Will it work during tournament prep?+
The current label lists 290 calories and 21g protein per bar, so you can decide whether it fits your plan. Weight-cutting and tournament nutrition can carry health risks; use qualified coaching or clinical guidance rather than relying on a bar-specific recommendation.
Why do you use bison tallow instead of seed oils?+
Genesee's current label lists grass-fed bison tallow and no canola, sunflower, or soybean oil. The finished bar lists 21g protein and no soy-protein isolate; White Chocolate Toffee does contain soy lecithin.
Does it have soy protein? My stomach can't handle it during rolls.+
The current ingredient lists name whey protein isolate, collagen, and peanut butter, not soy protein isolate. White Chocolate Toffee does declare soy; the current Coffee Latte and Snickerdoodle labels do not. Every flavor contains milk and peanuts, so always check the wrapper you receive.
Can I subscribe and skip during fight camp?+
Yes. A 12-bar box subscription saves 20% and orders over $65 ship free. You can manage, pause, skip, or cancel from your account; check the current subscription terms before ordering.
